AB - Needs an "Allies" menu?
If you've went into AB as some type of healer, whether it be a monk, rit, etc, you might get frustrated at a missing feature.....I know I do. What's missing is an "Allies" menu.
It's a 12v12 format, but you only see 4 redbars. Healers are the backbone of any team - you can't do damage if you're dead. In big fights, trying to heal players from other teams is like trying to target minions. I find it silly that some PvE missions/quests get an "Allies" menu for a few useless npc's, yet there's nothing like this for AB to monitor/target human players. On the occasion that you get split from your team and you happen to be playing as a type of healer/support character, it's frustrating keeping others alive, especially when you see them dying because trying to target them individually is much too clumsy, especially in a heated battle. Of course, let's not forget all the target-ally skills with great effects ("Make Haste", Splinter Weapon, Foul Feast, etcetc).
Adding this should add a little more sense of teamplay between all 4 parties, rather than making them feel a bit "isolated". Knowing who and who isn't in compass range can also be a little help for more coordinated teams.
I'd like to see the red bars of all 12 players on my team.

I'm actually fine with how it is now. I can heal other people well enough from the field of battle, only problem I get is I have difficulty clicking on them sometimes =\

I like this idea, but GW2 is the main focus nowadays. I highly doubt this would happen any time soon.
Also, this type of feature would be great, necessary, for organized PvP, but AB is not.

I agree it would help the healer a lot. Just seeing them in a ally section like the pet

You're gonna use the party bar eventually. I have party members 1-8 on the keypad. If you're trying to keep a team alive by clicking on their names manually, you're gonna be slower. Clicking/pressing the numkey for a specific ally is always gonna be faster, and easily could be the key to saving someone from a spike. When you got all kinds of clutter in the picture, manually targetting others gets worse. Bad players will only stair at the party bar....good players will be aware of things around them and use the party bar to their advantage. If you're not doing both, you're probably a bad monk.

Easier said than done. Depending on where you are on the map, your allies can be positioned behind you, under you, at your far side, etc. Your team really won't last long under heavy pressure if that's your method of doing things.
Bad arguments.

With clutter this is not abnormal as thet names constanly jump. I find that the bars are not always visible more annoying, so u first have to select them sometimes, before you can observe their status

I don't try to actively heal them per say... more of throwing a prot spirit/spirit bond on them before the inevitable curb-stomping hits them. I don't look at the party bars so much, even for my own team I prefer to just look at the field. I look at party bar to top stuff off.

As previously discussed, really good idea but encourages mobbing. Balthazar knows I hate mobbing.

Don't need an allies menu. As others have said, watch the field and get used to clicking on people- it really isn't that hard.
In reply to someone above: 1-8 for your allies is definitely better than clicking on them, but in AB it really doesn't make that much of a difference. I use 1-4 for my dudes then just click for any others.

One a similiar vein, yet off topic, I'd like to see an option to disable ally chat without disabling team chat.

While its good to keep track of all players on your side, its also important to note that this will promote mobbing.
How so?
If you notice that one group is dying, there will be a tendency to seek them out to "help" them. Furthermore, when you get stuck in a group of allies that are easy to target and interact, you become attached to that group. Once attached, expecting an efficient organized group to randomly split off isn't feasible. Even if the numbers are adequate, say like 3 split off from 6, the groups will probably not be balanced enough for it to be efficient (like 3 monks splitting from 3 warriors). At least in the 3 4 parties, you can choose who you go into the game with and have some semblance of balance.
Bottom line is that AB is chaotic and confusing enough as it is. With the 12 party man team, we'll be expecting more of a mobbing orgy than it already is.
